This is the perfect time to make this wine and have it ready for the holidays.
Amarone is full-bodied, richly dry and has a deep garnet color. It has a foundation of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes from the Veneto region. Notes of plum, sour cherry, raspberry and vanilla gradually marry with anise, bitter chocolate, coffee and fig tones that develop with age. Its depth, which is likened to Port (without the sweetness) comes from adding dried grapes during fermentation.
